Boehle Chemicals, Inc. was established by Fred F. Boehle in 1964 when he purchased the Michigan office of the S. S. Skelton Company. At that time, Boehle Chemicals was positioned as a manufacturers' representative covering the Paint and Coatings industry in Michigan and northwest Ohio.
Much has changed within our organization over the last 50 plus years. Boehle Chemicals is now both a stocking distributor and manufacturers' representative covering all of Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, West Virginia as well as Western Pennsylvania and Western New York. Although, Paint and Coatings remain strong markets for us, accounting for approximately 50% of our sales, other active markets include: Adhesives and Sealants, Cleaners, Lubricants, Personal Care Products, Plastics and Pharmaceuticals. Our product lines and customer base have diversified but we remain dedicated to supplying a value added product through differentiated quality and superior product knowledge, with an eye on safety and the environment.
As a founding member of the National Association of Chemical Distributors, we proudly stand behind the Responsible Distribution Process. In this vein, we continue to strive for improved quality of both product and suppliers for a competitive position and future growth. Teamwork between our technical sales representatives, customer service staff and suppliers is the key to this success.
This attitude is a reflection of the new direction taken since our new ownership in 1993. These changes include greater customer focus, improved customer service and an increased emphasis on niche market penetration. This was the leading factor in the 2001 acquisition of the Cleveland based Kamin-Cable, Inc. By targeted geographic expansion and superior technical selling, we aim to increase our value to both our suppliers and our customers. Our implementation of Chemical Distributor focused software in 2007, our ISO Certification in 2011 and our move to an expanded and more updated headquarters in 2013 are further investments to accomplish this goal.
It is felt that through a relentless pursuit of perfection in all facets of our business, both we and our suppliers will benefit through increased customer satisfaction and loyalty. The bottom line goal is growth through expansion of current markets, entering new markets and differentiated marketing for our current suppliers and products.
Done correctly, with a keen focus on our customers, this should be a win for all parties.
